This week your inbox got better at the everyday things. You can preview attachments without downloading, see whether your mail arrived, and get help from AI on long threads and replies.
The big one
Files now appear as cards under each email, with a thumbnail for photos and PDFs. Click one to open a full-screen viewer, step through the email's files with the arrow keys, and download whenever you like.
PDFs show every page with selectable text, zoom and a prompt for password-protected files. Images, text files, CSV sheets, audio, video, Word (.docx) and Excel (.xlsx) files all preview too. In the inbox list, each conversation shows chips for its first files, so you can open one without opening the conversation.
Summarize gives you the gist of a long conversation, its key points and what's waiting on you. Write with AI drafts a reply or new email, or rewrites your text shorter, friendlier or more formal. It never sends anything. Workspace admins can switch both off.
Sent messages now show Delivered, Delayed or Not delivered for each recipient. If an email can't be delivered, a notice explaining why appears in your inbox, under the email that failed.
If an email's replies would go to a different organisation than the sender, and you haven't dealt with that address before, a short banner tells you where your reply will go. Choose “It's fine” to stop seeing it for that sender.
When a newsletter or list offers a way out, an Unsubscribe link appears next to the sender. After you confirm, we handle the request for you. It never appears for mail in Spam.
Claude and ChatGPT can now connect to your mailbox by signing in, with no API key needed. The setup guide walks you through it.
Each message's menu now has Show original, with its headers and delivery details, and Download message to save it as an .eml file.
When an email names a different reply address, such as a website form notification, Reply now goes to that address, as in Gmail and Outlook. Reply all includes it too.
Images in emails now load through SuperMailOS, so senders don't see your IP address or location when you open their mail, and known tracking pixels are removed. In Spam, images wait until you choose to show them.
Adding seats, or moving between Pro and Business, no longer charges you on the spot: the difference goes on your next invoice. Adding a mailbox when every seat is used adds the seat in the same step, and you can update your card and see invoices on Plan & billing.
Hover over a name to see the full address and copy it. A details popup lists every recipient, the exact time and which address the email arrived on.
Larger files, like a PDF or a phone photo, could fail to send. Attachments up to the 10 MB limit now go through from the inbox and the API.
Some emails that looked like automated reports, such as a subject mentioning a delivery failure, were mistaken for system messages and never reached you. They now land in your inbox like any other mail.
Some newsletters and formatted emails stayed cut off for a while after opening. They now display fully as soon as they open.
